The DeVale 400 series self reset miniature thermal protector line contains one of the smallest-size controls manufactured world-wide for battery ptotection. The 400-02 thermal control is comprised of a miniature bimetal snap disc that is current and temperature sensitive. Operation of this control occurs when the temperature of the disc reaches its precalibrated set point by either an increase in temperature, elevated current level or both.
This design enables a clean positive make and break of the electrical contacts allowing this series to be used as an overcharge or temperature limit protector in numerous applications where exacting performance is essential.
The 400 series offer exceptional repeatability performance and have been a proven protector of choice by design engineers for use in battery packs, motors, transformers, ballasts, heating appliances and numerous others that demand uncompromised thermal or current protection. The 400-05 model is slightly larger in size and is available in various bimetal resistance choices that make it an excellent protector for applications where current levels exceed the switching capabilities of the 400-02. Both of these products offer a wide selection of lead materials and custom lengths which position this series as being the smallest and most diverse products available.
